Below are some of the variables in question:

Total Heat (Enthalpy)

Enthalpy represents the amount of heat energy in the air. Even heat generated by dry air and water vapor is factored into these variable readings.

Dry Bulb Temperature (DBT) and Wet Bulb Temperature (WBT)

Dry bulb temperature refers to the use of a traditional thermometer, as its bulb possesses no moisture. This refers to analyzing the ambient air temperature of an environment, which remains unaffected by air moisture. Wet bulb temperature has essentially the reverse effect of this process, involving covering the bulb of the thermometer with a wet cloth before taking a temperature reading.

Dew Point

This variable represents the point at which condensation occurs, which saturates the air temperature in an environment. Normally this point is equal to 100% relative humidity (RH), and it will remain mostly unchanged if dry air is cooled without adding or removing water vapor.

Relative Humidity (RH)

Relative humidity represents the amount of water vapor in the air, therefore indicating whether or not an environment is suitably designed and prepared for specific applications. Depending on which application you intend to operate in, you may require specific RH percentages for a healthy, safe, and comfortable space. Generally speaking, however, the appropriate relative humidity level of human occupation is 40% to 60% RH, which encourages maximum health, wellness, and comfort.

Specific volume represents the volume per unit mass of air. It is measured by cubic feet per pound.
